Chennai, Jan 25 (NationPress) Actor Ajith Kumar expressed his profound sense of humility and honour upon receiving the prestigious Padma award from the President of India. He conveyed to his fans and well-wishers that this esteemed recognition belongs as much to them as it does to him.

Following the announcement of his Padma Bhushan award, Ajith, through his publicist, shared his joy and appreciation.

In a statement released on X, he mentioned, “I am deeply humbled and honoured to receive the esteemed Padma Award from the President of India.”

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Hon'ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, and the Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for this prestigious honour. It is a privilege to be recognized at such a level, and I am truly grateful for this generous acknowledgment of my contributions to our nation.”

Ajith emphasized that this recognition is not merely a personal honour but a reflection of the collective efforts and support he has received from many. He expressed his appreciation to numerous individuals, starting with his colleagues in the film industry.

He stated, “I would like to express my sincere thanks to the members of the film industry, including my distinguished seniors, various peers, and countless others. Your inspiration, collaboration, and support have been instrumental in my journey, including my pursuit of passion in other areas.”

The actor also conveyed his gratitude to the motor racing and sports shooting communities for their support.

“I am thankful for the kind support I have received over the years from the motor racing fraternity and the sports pistol and rifle shooting community. I appreciate the Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC), the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT), the National Rifle Association of India, and the Chennai Rifle Club for their encouragement of sports and the community of sportspersons,” Ajith remarked.

Continuing, he acknowledged the love and support of his family and friends.

He stated, “To my family and friends: Your love and support have been both a refuge and source of strength. Thank you!”

Ajith reflected on his late father's legacy, saying, “I wish my late father could have lived to see this day. However, I like to believe he would be proud that his spirit and legacy endure in all that I do. I want to express my gratitude to my mother for her unconditional love and the sacrifices that enabled me to achieve my potential.”

Regarding his wife Shalini, he wrote, “To Shalini, my wife and companion of nearly 25 wonderful years: Your partnership has been a joy and a cornerstone of my success. To my children, Anoushka and Aadvik: You are my pride and the light of my life, inspiring me to set an example of doing well and living right.”

In conclusion, he thanked his fans and supporters.
