Mumbai, June 19 (NationPress) Actor Ali Fazal, who is anticipating the release of his forthcoming film ‘Metro... In Dino’, revealed that he felt quite apprehensive upon arriving on set. He mentioned that his co-stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Fatima Sana Shaikh advised him to wait for two days to grasp the unique approach of director Anurag Basu.
In a recent conversation with IANS, Ali expressed how he completely entrusted himself to Anurag, without concerning himself about how the overarching narrative of the film was developing. He emphasized that Anurag had full authority over the storyline, meticulously deciding the destinies of the characters in this intricate film.
Ali stated, “With someone like him, you can place your trust. I was very anxious. Everyone, including Adi, Fatima, and Pankaj sir, had collaborated with him on ‘Ludo’. So when I arrived on set, I was bewildered, thinking, ‘What’s happening? You guys seem so at ease. What’s the script? Where are we heading?’ They reassured me, ‘Two days. After that, you’ll start to comprehend his method’.”
Previously, the actor referred to whether the muscle memory from strumming the guitar in ‘Give Me Sunshine’ aided him for his upcoming role. Ali portrays a musician in Anurag Basu's film and noted that while ‘Give Me Sunshine’ from ‘3 Idiots’ featured a straightforward chord structure, the songs composed by Pritam in ‘Metro... In Dino’ are significantly more intricate and required a lot from him.
He mentioned to IANS, “I had to practice. For certain scenes, I really had to master the chords because these compositions are quite complex. I thought, ‘You have Pritam da and all these renowned singers and musicians. Suddenly, you’re presenting such complicated compositions’. I said, ‘I can’t’. But we endeavored to discover the best approach.”
Produced by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series in collaboration with Anurag Basu Productions Pvt. Ltd., ‘Metro In Dino’ is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu, and Taani Basu.
The film is set to hit theaters on July 4, 2025.
