This Saturday, the talented actress took to her Instagram account to share two delightful images featuring herself and her mother, who is also an actress. The first picture captures the touching moment of the senior actress embracing her daughter, while the second shows them both enjoying a hearty laugh during a dinner.

In her heartfelt caption, Alia expressed, “Happy bday mama birdie. You are our whole universe and you light it up every… single… day.”

Soni Razdan, an accomplished British-born Indian actress and filmmaker, is celebrated for her versatile roles in film, television, and theatre. Born in Birmingham to a British-German mother and a Kashmiri Pandit father, she relocated to India at a young age and pursued her education at the prestigious Elphinstone College in Mumbai.

She began her professional journey on stage, gaining recognition through popular television serials like ‘Buniyaad’ and ‘Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum’. Her transition to cinema was marked by powerful performances in films such as ‘36 Chowringhee Lane’, ‘Mandi’, ‘Saaransh’, and ‘Khamosh’. Known for her understated elegance and emotional depth, she expertly navigated both art-house and mainstream cinema.

During promotions for 'Songs of Paradise', Soni humorously recounted that her fondest memory of filming the iconic 'Party' was the sense of relief at the end of the tough shooting schedule, which kept the cast confined to a single location.

She shared with IANS, “When you're working on a film and you're shooting it all night, every night, your fondest memories are packing up and going to sleep (laughs). But, of course, I'm joking. I loved the whole experience.”

She added, “It was so innovative for that time, the way we shot the movie, moving from one room to another. It looks lovely on screen.”
