Mumbai, April 3 (NationPress) Actress Ameesha Patel expressed her thoughts on the significant age difference between Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna in their movie 'Sikandar'.

At a recent event in Mumbai, Ameesha was prompted to share her perspective on the discussion that emerged during a press conference regarding the age disparity between Salman and Rashmika.

In an interview with IANS, Ameesha stated, "Sunny Ji (Sunny Deol) and I also share a considerable age gap of over 20 years, but when the film succeeds, all is forgiven."

To recall, Ameesha has worked alongside Sunny Deol in two films, 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha' and 'Gadar 2'. Both films achieved remarkable success at the box office. It's noteworthy that Ameesha and Sunny have an 18-year age difference.

Recently, at the trailer launch of 'Sikandar', Salman commented on the age gap between older heroes and younger heroines. He remarked, "I have a 31-year age difference with my heroine, but she doesn't have this issue. Her father doesn't have this issue either." He then turned to Rashmika and asked, "You don't have this problem, right?"

It is a common trend in Indian cinema for older male protagonists to romance significantly younger female leads.

About 'Sikandar', the film is directed by AR Murugadoss. This action thriller was released in theaters on March 30 and received a mixed reception. Despite the anticipation, 'Sikandar' struggled to make a notable impact at the box office.

The plot follows Sanjay "Sikandar" Rajkot (Salman), the ruler of Rajkot, who becomes a target of Minister Rakesh Pradhan (Sathyaraj) after he kills the minister's son. After his wife's donated organs save three lives, Rakesh seeks revenge, compelling Sanjay to safeguard them.

The main cast of the film features Salman, Rashmika, Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Kishore, Jatin Sarna, and Sanjay Kapoor, among others.
