Mumbai, March 4 (NationPress) Renowned Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor took a trip down memory lane, discussing one of the most memorable comic elements in cinema—the Majnu Bhai painting from the hit film ‘Welcome’. This reflection occurred during a Holi-themed episode of the game show “Wheel of Fortune,” hosted by Akshay Kumar.

An audience member, who expressed his admiration for both Anil and Akshay, mentioned his fondness for the movie “Welcome” and shared that he had brought the famous Majnu Bhai painting with him, eager to learn about its background.

In response, Anil disclosed that he still possesses the original artwork. He elaborated on the painting's journey into meme culture, stating, “Log ye painting ke saath memes banate rehte hain, magar iske peeche ek depth hai, ek story hai, aur ek seriousness bhi hai” (People keep creating memes with this painting, but there is depth, a story, and seriousness behind it).

He humorously pointed out, “Aap log iska mazaak uda dete ho, memes bana ke, aur log sochte hain, kaisi painting hai” (You poke fun at it by making memes, and people wonder what kind of painting it is).

When the audience member noted that t-shirts featuring the painting were also available for purchase, Radhika chimed in to say she owned one as well.

Anil jokingly mentioned that he profits from those t-shirts as royalties, which left Akshay both shocked and amused.

Delving into the profound meaning behind the beloved painting, Anil remarked, “Iske peeche ek philosophy hai” (There is a philosophy behind it). He explained that the painting showcases a horse and a donkey, where the horse symbolizes diligence and hard work, while the donkey represents the contrary.

With a comedic twist, Anil highlighted that while the horse does the labor, the donkey often garners the accolades, drawing a parallel to typical boss-employee relationships.

He then posed a question to the audience: did they see themselves as a horse or a donkey?

Reflecting on his time in “Welcome,” Anil shared, “Sabse pehle toh Akshay Sahab ke saath maine ye film ki thi Welcome 1, fir 2 mein ye nahi the, fir 3 mein mujhe nikal diya aur Welcome 4 hum fir saath mein karenge” (First of all, I did Welcome 1 with Akshay Sahab, then he wasn’t in part 2, I was removed in part 3, and we will work together on Welcome 4 again).

He celebrated the Majnu Bhai painting, which has remained iconic even two decades after the film's debut in 2007.
