Mumbai, Feb 10 (NationPress) Renowned actor Anupam Kher has issued a statement warning his fans and followers about fraudulent Instagram accounts impersonating him.

In a video shared on social media, the actor urged individuals to disregard any follow requests from profiles other than his verified one.

He emphasized in the caption: “IGNORE: I only have this Instagram account. Please ignore any request to follow any other account with my name. Jai Ho!”

Anupam disclosed that many of his close friends had contacted him after receiving follow requests from accounts using his name and profile image.

In the video, he stated: “My dear friends… Some of my friends have sent me a message that someone has opened my account on Instagram AnupamKher30 AnupamPKher30.”

These fake accounts feature his profile pictures and videos, and they are sending follow requests to people.

The actor expressed that this situation led him to publicly address the matter to prevent anyone from becoming a victim of impersonation.

“I don't have any such account. Ignore them, and that’s all I wanted to say because some of my close friends have sent me a message asking why I opened another account. So I didn’t open it.”

Anupam is currently on set for the sequel of the 2006 film “Khosla Ka Ghosla!”

Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, the film follows Kamal Kishore Khosla, a middle-class Delhi resident, and his family's efforts to reclaim their land that was taken by a builder, Khurana.

The film premiered at the 2006 Kara Film Festival and won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi at the 54th National Film Awards. It was remade in Tamil in 2008 and in Kannada in 2010.

On January 3, Anupam reflected on his cinematic journey during the first day of shooting for his 550th film, “Khosla Ka Ghosla 2”.
