Did Anupam Kher Ever Imagine Becoming an Author?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 12 (NationPress) Renowned actor Anupam Kher has shared his heartfelt appreciation for witnessing his books displayed on the shelves of bookstores. He expressed that while he always envisioned his stories being brought to life on screen and stage, he never anticipated being recognized as an author.
The 69-year-old star took to Instagram to post a series of videos and images capturing the memorable moment of him signing copies of his books at a bookstore. Describing the experience as both “quiet and overwhelming,” he reflected on his journey as an actor and how he has always believed his narratives would resonate through visual mediums.
Anupam captioned the post: “AUTHOR ANUPAM KHER: Witnessing my books on the shelves fills me with a profound sense of gratitude. As an actor, I consistently believed my stories would be portrayed on screen and stage!! I never thought I would one day become an author.”
He further remarked, “That term still feels novel, almost delicate. What makes this achievement even more significant is that I hail from a Hindi medium background, yet all four of my life-coaching books are penned in English.”
The actor emphasized that each copy on display represents more than just a book.
“It serves as a reminder that language does not impose limitations, that aspirations can transform, and that reinvention knows no age. It instills in me not just a sense of importance — but immense gratitude. #KuchBhiHoSaktaHai #DifferentButNoLess,” he shared.
On the professional front, Anupam is currently filming the sequel to the 2006 hit “Khosla Ka Ghosla!”
Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, the narrative follows Kamal Kishore Khosla, a middle-class resident of Delhi, and his family’s struggle to reclaim their land unlawfully seized by a builder named Khurana.
The original film was showcased at the 2006 Kara Film Festival and received the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi at the 54th National Film Awards. It was later adapted into Tamil in 2008 and Kannada in 2010.
On January 3, Anupam reflected on his cinematic journey as he embarked on the first day of shooting for his 550th film, Khosla Ka Ghosla 2.
