Mumbai, Dec 16 (NationPress) Renowned actor Anupam Kher has taken to social media to commemorate his 50 remarkable years in the city of dreams, Mumbai.

The actor reflected on this significant milestone, prompted by a close friend. "MY GOLDEN JUBILEE IN MUMBAI", Anupam expressed. "My friend and classmate #SuhasKhandke from the #NationalSchoolOfDrama sent me a heartfelt message this morning (2nd Pic) recalling my initial visit to Mumbai (then Bombay) on December 15, 1975!"

He continued, "Exactly FIFTY years ago, I was just starting my journey at Drama School. I stayed with Suhas for 10 days! As a 20-year-old, I was utterly captivated by the city’s energy and grandeur of #Bombay!" He further shared, "Suhas resided on #WalkeshwerRoad. I experienced the vastness of the ocean for the first time! It struck me that the people here were unique compared to other regions in India! Today, I have a word for them – CHILLED!"

The Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge star highlighted how the city of dreams has bestowed upon him everything. "Reflecting on these years, it's clear that Mumbai has given me EVERYTHING! It has provided me with DREAMS and assisted me in realizing them!" Acknowledging his four-decade journey in film, Anupam noted, "41 years in cinema, nearly 550 films, friendships, successes that humbled me, and failures that imparted invaluable lessons! Thank you, MUMBAI, for your blessings and kindness! The everyday person on these streets is genuinely extraordinary! They embody the heartbeat of this city. I salute them."

Anupam expressed gratitude to his friend for the nostalgic reminder. "Thanks, Suhas, for this joyous memory! The first pic is from a play we did, #EkAurDronacharya, directed by my dear friend #SatishKaushik. Miss him! Jai Ho MUMBAI! #MumbaiMeriJaan #Mumbaikar."

He shared several photos, taking a nostalgic journey through memories, including a snapshot from his debut theatre play and a screenshot of his conversation with Suhas.

The message from Suhas Khandke read, "Hey brother, today marks 50 years since you first set foot in Mumbai. During our winter break in the first year, we boarded the train on December 14, 1975, arriving in Mumbai the following day. It turned out to be a momentous day for you. Congratulations, dear Anupam, on your successful Golden Jubilee in the city of dreams."

Recently, Anupam Kher was honored by two prestigious educational institutions in India for his outstanding contributions on and off the screen. Acknowledged not only for his illustrious acting career but also for his societal contributions, Kher expressed deep gratitude for these esteemed awards.

Meanwhile, discussing Anupam Kher’s recent directorial venture ‘Tanvi The Great’, the film has returned to theaters. It stars Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Boman Irani, Pallavi Joshi, Karan Tacker, and Nasser, alongside Anupam and Iain Glen. ‘Tanvi The Great’ tells the story of a 21-year-old woman on the autism spectrum, who lives with her mother and grandfather, inspired by her late father, Captain Samar Raina, an Indian Army officer, with dreams of saluting the national flag at Siachen Glacier.

Looking ahead, the veteran actor recently announced his collaboration with filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya for his 549th project. On the first day of the shoot, Kher presented the Hum Saath-Saath Hain creator with an auspicious shawl from Ayodhya.
