Why Did Anupama Solanki Depart from ‘Jagriti: Ek Nayi Subha’ So Suddenly?

Mumbai, Sep 2 (NationPress) Television Actress Anupama Solanki has opened up about her character Sudha’s unexpected exit from the show ‘Jagriti: Ek Nayi Subha’, expressing her feelings of disappointment as she had committed to a one-year contract.

Reflecting on this experience, she stated, “My storyline will conclude in the next two days. When the production head informed me that ‘Anupama, your character will wrap up in 4–5 days,’ I felt quite disheartened since I had signed for a whole year.”

The actress continued, “The audience embraced Sudha with such warmth, making me mentally prepared to remain until at least December 2025. Feeling low was natural; however, this phase has taught me the significance of detachment.”

For Anupama, Sudha was far more than just a role; it was the first time she felt a deep connection to her character.

“This was the first occasion in my career where I formed an emotional bond with a character. I could genuinely feel her journey. Yet, as actors, we must also brace ourselves for the reality that Indian TV shows can often conclude or shift tracks abruptly—even within just three months. Thus, I am gradually training myself mentally for such situations.”

She also acknowledged her co-star Arya Babbar for providing unwavering support during this challenging time.

“Arya reassured me not to worry and promised that I would land my next project soon. He even praised my acting in front of the entire crew. For me, it was a significant moment—having an established actor like Arya Babbar commend my work publicly.”

“He serves as the cornerstone of the show, and his encouraging words meant a lot to me. In today’s competitive industry, few individuals go out of their way to acknowledge someone’s efforts, so I cherish that immensely.”

Commenting on the abrupt endings of storylines in television, Anupama emphasized that every actor deserves clarity regarding a character's conclusion, especially when the response is positive.

“I understand that networks have their own pressures—sometimes a new show needs to be promoted, or TRPs and time slots are rearranged. Recently, Zee TV canceled Kumkum Bhagya and Bhagya Lakshmi, and our show’s time slot was also altered. I respect those decisions, but actors should at least receive some clarity.”
