Arjun Chidambaram will be seen playing a character named Abraham in the upcoming Tamil family entertainer 'Blast', the film's producers confirmed on 26 May. The revelation was made by AGS Entertainment through its official social media handles, adding fresh intrigue to the ensemble cast headlined by Arjun Sarja, Priety Mukhundhan, and Abhirami. Directed by Subhash K. Raj, the film is set to hit screens on 28 May.

Character Reveal and Release Update

AGS Entertainment posted the character introduction on its social media timelines, writing: 'Meet Abraham from the world of BLAST. #BlastFromMay28.' The announcement signals the production house's intent to build momentum in the final days before release. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has already cleared the film with a U/A certificate, paving the way for a wide theatrical release.

Shoot Wrapped, Buzz Building

The production was officially wrapped in February 2025, when AGS Entertainment shared a behind-the-scenes video featuring cast members celebrating the completion of filming. The production house wrote at the time: 'Locked and Wrapped! #AGS28. Big love to the entire team. We can't wait for you to see this on the big screen!' The warmth of that wrap celebration has only added to audience anticipation.

Why 'Blast' Has Industry Attention

The film arrives on the back of a strong run for AGS Entertainment, which recently delivered back-to-back blockbusters in 'Love Today' and 'Dragon'. Notably, director Subhash K. Raj previously served as an assistant director under Pradeep Ranganathan, who played a pivotal creative role in both those hits — making 'Blast' a closely watched debut for the new director.

Adding to the excitement is the film's music composer: Ravi Basrur, widely recognised for his iconic score on the pan-Indian blockbuster 'KGF', marks his Tamil cinema debut as a music director with this project. His involvement has drawn significant attention from film music enthusiasts across South India.
