Chennai, Feb 9 (NationPress) Refuting the swirling social media speculation that director Arun Matheswaran is no longer involved in the highly anticipated biopic of the legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja, the film's production team confirmed on Monday that Arun Matheswaran will indeed direct the biopic after completing his current project, 'DC', which stars Lokesh Kanakaraj in the lead role.
On Monday, rumors circulated online suggesting that the acclaimed director was no longer attached to the Ilaiyaraaja biopic.
However, the film's publicist swiftly dismissed these claims. Riaz Ahmed, the publicist, took to social media to clarify, stating, "Dear All, the information circulating regarding Arun Matheswaran being detached from the IlaiyaraajaBiopic featuring Dhanush is incorrect. For those unaware, actor Dhanush is set to portray Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja in this official biopic of the internationally acclaimed music director.
This film marks the beginning of a series of collaborations between the production companies Connekkt Media and Mercuri.
Meanwhile, Arun Matheswaran’s next film, which features talented director Lokesh Kanakaraj as the protagonist, is titled 'DC'.
Actress Wamiqa Gabbi stars as the female lead in this movie, which will also serve as Lokesh Kanakaraj’s acting debut.
A teaser recently released by the filmmakers suggested that the film may revolve around themes of gangster drama. The teaser revealed that Lokesh Kanakaraj portrays a character named Devdas, while Wamiqa Gabbi plays Chandra.
