Chennai, March 21 (NationPress) Actor Bharath, who takes on the lead role in the much-anticipated film 'Kaalidas 2' directed by Sri Senthil, has revealed that the sequel to the successful 2019 film will delve into an emotional crime thriller narrative.

During the trailer launch of the film, Bharath expressed, "This is certainly not your typical crime thriller. It embodies an emotional drama with various nuances. The reason Kaalidas 1 resonated with both the media and critics was its exploration of the emotional aspects of a police officer's life. Similarly, we have two forms of crime: organized and emotional. 'Kaalidas 2' focuses on the latter. In both films where I've portrayed a cop, I haven't resorted to shouting, wielding a gun, or swinging a machete. No punch dialogues either. You can expect the same subtlety that was evident in 'Kaalidas 1,'" he shared.

Bharath continued, "We initiated this franchise in 2019 with the release of 'Kaalidas,' which turned into a massive success. However, the next two-and-a-half years were consumed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Success in cinema often opens doors for both the director and the lead actor, leading to opportunities from major production houses. While that unfolded, I ventured into other projects."

Despite these opportunities, Bharath conveyed his desire to collaborate with director Sri Senthil once more.

"Deep down, I was determined to work with this director again. Although 'Kaalidas 2' wasn't on my mind at the time, my aspiration was to team up with Senthil again. He stands out as one of the finest technicians in the industry. His sincerity allows actors to put their trust in him. When you have a talented director at the helm, you can be confident about the outcome of the film. Senthil is precisely that kind of director," he remarked, addressing the director who was present in the audience, "I consider myself fortunate to have you in my journey."

Bharath further commented, "During a tumultuous phase in my life, 'Kaalidas' proved to be tremendously supportive and marked my comeback. As we embarked on 'Kaalidas 2,' our aim was to create a compact crime thriller, but it evolved into a larger project due to the producers' contributions. They have provided everything this film needs, and even more. This is a significant film for me, and I trust it will meet expectations."

This sequel, the second in the celebrated franchise 'Kaalidas,' is produced by Five Star K. Senthil and Dr. N. Yogeshwaran. Written and directed by Sri Senthil, who also helmed the first installment, 'Kaalidas 2' features Ajay Karthi alongside Bharath in pivotal roles.

Additionally, the film boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Bhavani Sre, Sangita, Abarnathi, Ananth Nag, TM Karthik, and 'Singam' Jayavel.

The film has generated substantial excitement among fans and cinephiles for multiple reasons. Firstly, it serves as the sequel to the blockbuster 'Kaalidas,' and it also marks the return of actress Sangita to the cinema after a considerable hiatus.

From a technical perspective, the film includes music by Sam CS, cinematography by Suresh Bala, and editing by Bhuvan Srinivasan, with G Durairaj as the production designer.

The screenplay has been crafted by Aravindan Anand, while art direction is managed by 'Kaliyuga' A. Raja. The film's choreography is handled by Bobby for dance sequences and by Om Prakash for stunts.

Tapas Nayak serves as the audiographer, with lyrics penned by Mohanraj, and costumes designed by Dorothy Jai (DJ).
