Amitabh shared his thoughts on X, formerly known as Twitter, writing in Hindi: “Ek saal main teen filmein banaayi aur teeno alag alag bhumikaaye. I Want to Talk; Housefull 5, Kaalidhar Lapata .. Aur teeno main, aesa pradarshan jo sab se alag kirdaar; kahin bhi nahi laga ki ye Abhishek Bachchan hai.”
“(I made three films in a year, each with a distinct role – I Want to Talk, Housefull 5, Kaalidhar Lapata… And in all three, the performances were so remarkable, the characters so unique – it never felt like this was Abhishek Bachchan.)”
He further added that in every film he truly felt like the character portrayed.
“Nahi… Sab main yahi laga ki yahi kirdaar hai… Aesa, aaj ke yug main dekhna, alag baat, use sweekar karna, aur saksham nibhana, yeh gun, Abhishek tumne duniya ko dikha diya. Mera hriday se Ashirwad aur dher saara pyaar. Haan haan haan tum mere bete ho aur mujhe tumhari prashansa karte huye koi nahi rok sakta.”
“(No... in every film, it felt like it was the character himself. Witnessing such talent in today’s times, accepting it, and executing it with such skill – Abhishek, you’ve showcased this gift to the world! My heartfelt blessings and immense love. Yes, yes, yes! You are my son, and nobody can stop my praise for you.)”
Abhishek’s most recent release, Kaalidhar Laapata, directed by Madhumita, tells the story of a middle-aged man facing a degenerative disease who learns his family plans to abandon him. He seeks solace in a fair, where he forms a bond with an orphaned boy.
