Los Angeles, April 7 (NationPress) The forthcoming edition of the Tribeca Film Festival will be inaugurated by ‘Billy Joel: And So It Goes’, a two-part documentary about the iconic musician Billy Joel.
Tribeca Festival CEO and co-founder Jane Rosenthal revealed the opening night lineup during her presentation at the NAB Show’s Business Show of Entertainment event, as reported by ‘Variety’.
“For almost 25 years, the Tribeca Festival has celebrated the artists who imbue New York with its heart and soul,” Rosenthal stated. “On the opening night of the 2025 Festival, we are excited to honor Billy Joel, an artist who has truly embodied that spirit. Paying homage to the legendary performer who captured the essence of a ‘New York State of Mind’ is an ideal way to commence this year’s celebration of creativity and inspiration.”
According to ‘Variety’, this year’s Tribeca Festival will take place from June 4 to June 15 in New York City, showcasing a diverse lineup of films, music, television, audio storytelling, live discussions, games, and immersive experiences.
‘Billy Joel: And So It Goes’, which will kick off the festival on June 4, is presented as an “expansive portrait of the life and music of Billy Joel, delving into the love, loss, and personal challenges that inspire his songwriting,” according to a press release.
“With unparalleled access to previously unseen performances, home videos, and personal photographs, along with in-depth one-on-one interviews, the documentary offers an intimate look at the life and artistry of Joel, whose music has resonated across generations,” it further stated.
