On Thursday, the ‘Neerja’ actress shared the joyous news through an Instagram post. With her chic photos, Sonam showcased her baby bump with the caption, “Mother.” Numerous Bollywood stars and friends from the industry rushed to the comments section to express their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for Sonam Kapoor's expanding family.

Kareena shared, “Sona and Anand,” accompanied by red heart emojis, while Priyanka expressed her joy with a simple, “Congratulations.” Parineeti Chopra added, “Congrats mamacitaaa,” and Bhumi Pednekkar also extended her wishes with “Congratulations.”

For her pregnancy announcement, Sonam drew inspiration from Princess Diana, sporting a striking hot-pink wool suit featuring oversized, gently padded shoulders.

Sonam Kapoor and her spouse, businessman Anand Ahuja, celebrated their wedding in May 2018 after several years of romance. They welcomed their first child, a son named Vayu, in August 2022. Speculations about Sonam's second pregnancy began in October, with reports indicating she was already in her second trimester.

On the professional front, the 40-year-old actress made her debut in 2007 with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Saawariya.” She has featured in significant films such as “Delhi 6,” “Aisha,” “Raanjhanaa,” “Khoobsurat,” “Dolly Ki Doli,” and “Veere Di Wedding.” Her latest appearance was in the 2023 film “Blind,” directed by Shome Makhija, where she played a lead role alongside Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak, and Lillete Dubey. “Blind,” a remake of the 2011 South Korean film of the same name, follows a blind police officer on the hunt for a serial killer.

Since the arrival of her first child, Sonam has taken a hiatus from acting but remains active in the public eye, attending events and hosting get-togethers at home.
