Los Angeles, Oct 15 (NationPress) Pop sensation Britney Spears has responded to the explosive claims made by her ex-husband Kevin Federline in his latest memoir.
In his book, Kevin voiced serious concerns about Britney, expressing worries for their two sons, as reported by ‘People’ magazine.
A spokesperson for Britney Spears, 43, addressed these allegations in a statement prior to the memoir's release, titled ‘You Thought You Knew’. The spokesperson stated, “With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her, and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin.”
“Her primary focus is on her children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their welfare amidst this sensationalism. She shared her journey in her own memoir, The Woman in Me,” the statement continued.
According to ‘People’, Britney and Federline, 47, were wed in 2004 and welcomed sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, before their divorce was finalized in 2007. In his memoir, Federline revealed that the boys once approached him with troubling allegations about their famous mother, expressing reluctance to stay at her home during their teenage years.
“They would sometimes wake up at night to find her standing silently in the doorway, watching them sleep, saying, ‘Oh, you’re awake?’ with a knife in her hand,” Federline allegedly wrote in his memoir, as reported by The New York Times. “Then she’d turn around and pad off without explanation.”
Additionally, Federline shared his worries regarding Britney’s current “situation,” which he believes is “racing toward something irreversible.”
“It’s become impossible to pretend everything’s OK. From where I sit, the clock is ticking, and we’re getting close to the 11th hour,” he reportedly stated in his memoir, according to the Times.
“Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces,” he added.
While Federline refrained from sharing specific concerns about Britney, he did mention his belief that the ‘Free Britney’ movement, which played a significant role in liberating the star from her 13-year conservatorship, was more detrimental than fans realize.
