Mumbai, Oct 15 (NationPress) Shekhar Suman took to social media to share a poignant tribute to his late mother, the only person he ever felt fear towards.
In a touching throwback photo with his beloved mother, Suman disclosed that she was a highly educated individual who radiated love and care for everyone around her.
“My mother was a very literate and learned woman. She held an MA in philosophy (hons). She was reserved, speaking only when prompted. Her heart was full of kindness and compassion, and she took care of everyone in the family without showing favoritism, despite me being the only son among three sisters. I must admit, if I was ever afraid of anyone, it was my mother, as she was a strict disciplinarian and well-principled,” he expressed.
Suman recounted that after his father's passing, he brought his mother to Bombay to reside with them.
He remarked, “Ma was a kidney transplant patient requiring constant care. After my father, a distinguished surgeon and professor of surgery in Patna, passed away in 2010 due to Parkinson's disease, I decided to bring her to Bombay. Initially, she refused, fearing she would be a burden, but when her health deteriorated, I brought her from Patna in 2015 despite her objections, as she was a dignified and self-respecting lady, albeit quite stubborn.”
Reflecting on the cherished moments spent with his mother, Suman shared, “Those were the finest years of my life. I am incredibly blessed that God gave me the chance to care for her. I reduced my work commitments to spend quality time with her, cooking and having endless discussions about everything imaginable was a profound joy.”
“In our family, we didn’t just love her; we worshipped her. She was a monumental and exemplary figure, the perfect woman, and the most beautiful mother in the universe. We lost her on June 17, 2022,” he added.
Concluding his heartfelt tribute, Suman expressed his deep longing, stating, “Life has never been the same again. I love you, Ma, and miss you. I pray that you return as my mother in every birth. Charan-sparsh.”
