Los Angeles, May 8 (NationPress) The highly anticipated film ‘Captivated’, featuring Al Pacino and Katie Holmes in leading roles, is gearing up to begin production with an extensive shooting schedule in Rome.
This mob thriller aims to offer a fresh perspective on the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III, contrasting with Ridley Scott’s ‘All the Money in the World’, as reported by Variety.
Set to commence filming later this month, ‘Captivated’ is directed by Dito Montiel and narrates the gripping tale of Getty III’s abduction in 1973. The film explores the unexpected relationship between Saro Mammoliti, a Calabrian mafia boss portrayed by Pacino in his older years, and Gail Getty, Getty III’s mother, played by Holmes.
According to Variety, Italian producer Andrea Iervolino has joined the project, stating, “These are two souls from entirely different backgrounds, united by a tragedy that will indelibly alter their lives.” The synopsis further reveals, “Amid psychological tension and nuanced desire, their relationship unfolds like a seductive game of chess, adding a vital layer to the mystery surrounding the Getty kidnapping.”
As per recent updates, Toby Kebbell, who was cast as the younger Mammoliti, has exited the project. Meanwhile, Meadow Walker and Dermot Mulroney are reportedly in discussions to join the cast in undisclosed roles.
“We take immense pride in being part of a project characterized by its powerful storytelling, remarkable cast, and strong directorial vision from Dito Montiel,” said Iervolino, CEO of the newly established Andrea Iervolino Company, following a split with his former business partner, Monica Bacardi.
“Bringing part of the production to Italy is a source of great pride for us, as it allows us to showcase our nation and its talents on a grand international stage,” he added.
