Mumbai, June 12 (NationPress) Actor Chandan K. Anand has been captivating audiences as Roshan Mathew in the series "Kankhajura" recently.

Discussing his method for approaching such emotionally intense roles, the 'Class' actor stated, “Portraying complex characters is never straightforward — it transcends mere acting. Actors dedicate years to refining their skills, but to truly inhabit a complex character, you must surpass technique. It requires embodying the essence of that character so entirely that any semblance of ‘acting’ disappears.”

Chandan referred to the script as his “sacred text,” revealing that he reads it nearly a hundred times before arriving on set.

“I visualize it, delving into the hidden meanings, symbols, and subtext. Then, I create a personal backstory, imaginative yet grounded. Eventually, your breath alters, your gaze shifts, your energy changes — and you cease performing. You begin to exist as that character. That’s when the real magic unfolds,” he elaborated.

Chandan has also shared the screen with Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter in Karan Johar's drama "Homebound".

He described working on Neeraj Ghaywan's project as “a dream.”

The actor shared, “At this stage, I can’t disclose too much about my character — but I can express that working on Homebound has been nothing less than a dream come true. Collaborating with Neeraj Ghaywan, whose work I hold in high regard, and under Dharma Productions, represents a significant milestone for me.”

Praising his co-stars Janhvi and Ishaan, he noted, “Sharing the screen with Janhvi, Ishaan, and Vishal — actors with such unique energies — enriched the experience. Being surrounded by passionate storytellers hones your craft. I’m not chasing fame; rather, I walk this path with sincerity and fervor. When someone like Neeraj sir believes in your performance, it feels as though you’re not just acting — you’re truly arriving.”

Homebound also recently premiered at Cannes. “I wasn’t physically present at Cannes, but being part of a film that was screened there — and appreciated — is surreal in itself. It’s a genuine blessing. Knowing that international audiences engage with and resonate with what we’ve created — that’s the essence of our purpose as actors,” concluded Chandan.
