Los Angeles, Oct 22 (NationPress) Renowned Hollywood actress Christina Applegate is preparing to reveal the untold stories of her life beyond the glitz of Hollywood in her forthcoming memoir.
The 53-year-old actress will launch her debut memoir titled ‘You with the Sad Eyes: A Memoir’ next year, as reported by People magazine.
This memoir will explore Applegate's “tumultuous” experiences before achieving stardom in the “legendary Laurel Canyon scene of the 1970s and 80s”, chronicling her rise to fame as Kelly Bundy in the sitcom ‘Married... with Children’, along with her significant film roles in ‘Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead’, ‘The Sweetest Thing’, ‘Anchorman’, and ‘Bad Moms’, according to the book's synopsis.
The memoir promises to deliver Applegate's “full story of her years in the public eye”, narrated with her characteristic “raw and darkly funny” humor. It highlights her legacy as a “childhood star turned iconic comedic actress” and her remarkable journey as a “survivor”.
According to People, in her memoir, Applegate candidly discusses “painful moments that the public didn't see, including abuse, abandonment, insecurities, self-doubt, body dysmorphia, and assault”.
“I wrote this because I genuinely believe that books can help people feel less alone. I assure you, You with the Sad Eyes will not be a sob story. However, it will be authentic,”
Applegate expressed in a statement. “It will encompass the highs and lows, the humor and sorrow of life. So here I am, the real me. I have much to share.”
The Emmy award-winning actress, who revealed her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2021, explained that she found the inspiration to write this memoir after she “was forced to slow down” due to her condition.
She mentioned that while she cherished her career in television and film, with her MS diagnosis, “all the things I thought were important shifted”.
“For a long time, I struggled to find meaning in everything I've experienced, but for the first time in my life, I've been able to pause and reflect,”
she added.
