Los Angeles, Oct 22 (NationPress) Hollywood actress Dakota Johnson has opened up about the challenges she faced while growing up in the limelight of her famous parents.
The 36-year-old actress recently shared her experiences regarding life with parents entrenched in the entertainment industry, as reported by 'People' magazine.
Johnson is the daughter of renowned actress Melanie Griffith and acclaimed actor and singer-songwriter Don Johnson.
In an interview with 'Vogue', she recalled, “As a child, there were moments that felt genuinely frightening, with people sometimes trying to aggressively approach my mom while we were just at the supermarket.”
She is also the stepdaughter of Antonio Banderas, whom Griffith was married to from 1996 to 2015.
Johnson further explained, “If you normalize that as a child, it can create various psychological complexities. Being in the public eye, with the world intrusively knowing about your personal life, can be incredibly invasive and painful. While there are drawbacks, there are also remarkable benefits, just like with everything else.”
According to 'People', she confessed that she did not fully comprehend the concept of Hollywood during her childhood.
She added, “Growing up on film sets, I was always amidst people involved in movie-making. I was born in Texas since my dad was working there, so I recognized that my family's profession was quite different from that of my school friends, whose mothers went to typical jobs every day.”
She noted that the frequent traveling made it difficult to form friendships as a child, saying, “But I always accepted it; this is our lifestyle. It's in our DNA.”
The star of 'Materialists' has a total of six siblings from both her mother and father.
