Deepika posted a video on Instagram featuring herself and her co-star from “Mangal Lakshmi”, performing to the title track of the classic 1999 movie “Taal”.
In her caption, she noted: “Nothing we learn in this world is ever wasted. If it’s beneficial, it will serve a good purpose in the future. That was true for us when we had to dance on set to the same song (sic).”
Explaining the advantages of being an actor-dancer, Deepika commented: “My background as an Actor Dancer has always been a great help, especially on set. This choreography was inspired by my friend @purnatamohanty, an ODISSI dancer, whose work I had seen online long ago.”
“When the opportunity arose to dance to 'Taal', her choreography immediately came to mind. We had just 15 minutes to wrap up this scene, and @thearshiyasharma also followed the choreography I instructed.”
Regarding “Taal”, it was directed by Subhash Ghai and features stars like Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Akshaye Khanna, Amrish Puri, and Alok Nath. The film narrates the story of Mansi, who rises to fame with the support of Vikrant after enduring insults from her ex-boyfriend's family.
