Mumbai, Aug 4 (NationPress) Television actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee, whose young son Joy faced online trolling recently, expressed that her struggle is against racism and she aspires for a future free from any form of discrimination.

She stated, "As a public figure, I accept the trolls directed at me regarding my work and lifestyle without letting it affect me. I have always recognized that with love comes hate. I chose to remain silent and avoid engaging with those who question my marriage. This was my decision, a matter of my human rights. Yet, I remained quiet."

Devoleena mentioned that her silence has been misconstrued.

"My silence was misinterpreted when trolls couldn’t restrain themselves and began attacking my innocent child, Joy. They overlook the fact that racism is a crime. I trust that as he matures and comprehends, he will be resilient enough to confront such challenges. He is, after all, my son, Devoleena's son."

Now, she has taken legal action by posting screenshots of the hateful remarks and is pursuing a case with the cyber crime division.

Devoleena declared, "I am taking a definitive stand against racism."

She added, "I envision a society devoid of discrimination, where everyone can exercise their human rights. I am convinced that each day, we all can oppose racial bias and derogatory conduct. We should not tolerate such behavior but ensure that they face repercussions."

In her closing remarks, Devoleena said: "I have opted for legal measures, and I will ensure that no one escapes accountability. I am determined that no other parents or children endure such situations in the future. I appreciate the cyber crime unit for treating this matter seriously and assisting me. Many of the accounts that targeted us have been removed from social media, but they will still be tracked."

The actress tied the knot with her fitness trainer, Shanwaz Shaikh, in December 2022, and the couple welcomed their son Joy in December 2024.
