Chennai, Jan 2 (NationPress) The production team behind director K J Surendar's much-anticipated romantic film, 'Maayabimbum - A 2005 Love Story', starring Aakash and Janaki in the leading roles, has officially announced that it will release in theaters on January 23 this year.
The film is produced by K.J. Surendar himself under the banner of Self Start Productions and will also star Hari Krishnan, Rajesh, and Arun Kumar in significant roles.
In a conversation with IANS, the director shared, "The film's concept is drawn from a real-life event. We have developed that idea into a complete feature film."
The filmmakers are confident that this movie will present an unexplored perspective on love for today's generation, as its storyline is set in 2005. According to the director, "This film will offer a nostalgic experience for those born in the nineties."
"Our filming locations included Cuddalore, Chidambaram, Pudukkottai, and Thanjavur. The storyline revolves around a romantic relationship between a third-year medical student and a nurse working in a primary health center," he revealed.
On the technical side, the film features a score by Nanda, with editing handled by Vinoth. The cinematography is the work of newcomer Edwin, while the lyrics for the film's songs have been written by Viveka and Padmavathi.
The production team expresses confidence in their content, which they deem strong. "The movie has a profound emotional romantic dimension. Additionally, Maayabimbum emphasizes the importance of friendship and family values," the director elaborated.
Recently, the hit track 'Yenkkulae' from the film was unveiled by actor and music director G V Prakash Kumar along with actress Vani Bhojan, both of whom praised the song highly.
Veteran director Sundar C previously released the film's first-look poster and has commended the entire team.
