Chennai, Oct 20 (NationPress) The producers of director Selvamani Selvaraj's eagerly awaited period drama, 'Kaantha', starring actor Dulquer Salmaan in the leading role, announced on Monday that the film is set to release globally on November 14.

Actor Dulquer Salmaan shared the news on his social media platforms, exclaiming, "Diwali just got a whole lot more explosive! #Kaantha will be illuminating theaters across the globe from NOVEMBER 14th! Wishing everyone a joyous Diwali, and we can’t wait to see you in theaters soon. A production by @thespiritmedia and @dqswayfarerfilms."

Originally, the film was slated for release on September 12, but the team decided to delay it, now confirming the new date of November 14.

The recently released teaser has generated significant enthusiasm among fans and cinema enthusiasts. It has heightened the anticipation surrounding the film.

The teaser kicks off with an announcer claiming that 'Saantha', the film being produced by Modern Studios, will mark Tamil cinema's inaugural horror film. It showcases the film's production, featuring Ayya (Samuthirakani) as the writer-director and Dulquer Salmaan as the protagonist. It becomes apparent that the director and the lead actor are currently at odds, with Ayya wanting to shoot a scene where a character named Chandran is frightened by a spirit named Neeli first, while Dulquer prefers a more light-hearted scene to be filmed initially.

Once allies, the hero and director are now bitter rivals, despite having previously shared mutual respect and affection. The teaser reveals that Ayya played a pivotal role in shaping Dulquer into the star he is today. Nevertheless, that camaraderie has faded. Ayya wants to focus on the heroine's character, while Dulquer insists on making alterations. Ultimately, the teaser concludes with Dulquer renaming the film from 'Saantha' to 'Kaantha'.
