Mumbai, Oct 20 (NationPress) - Television actress Megha Ray, who stars as the lead in the show, "Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani", expressed her belief that the festival of Diwali symbolizes light that exists not only around us but also within our souls.
In an exclusive discussion with IANS, Megha elaborated on the essence of Diwali for her.
She stated, "For me, Diwali represents light, both around us and within us. It serves as a reminder to embrace kindness when it's easier to overlook it, and to uphold honesty when the temptation to deceive arises."
Megha noted that many individuals today are increasingly prioritizing empathy, truth, and mental well-being over superficial appearances.
"That’s the true triumph of good over evil in our times," she added.
When asked about her favorite aspect of Diwali, she shared with IANS, "Even when I am away from home, I attempt to recreate the essence of Diwali in subtle ways, such as lighting diyas, wearing traditional attire, and sharing sweets with my colleagues."
Megha emphasized that the most cherished part of Diwali for her is the feeling of unity.
"It’s not about the extravagance of the celebration, but about spreading light and joy wherever you are, even on set," she remarked.
Reflecting on her delightful childhood memories associated with Diwali, Megha recalled, "As a child, Diwali was filled with pure excitement - decorating the house with my mother, lighting diyas everywhere, and indulging in countless sweets! I eagerly anticipated my mom’s homemade gulab jamuns; I simply couldn’t resist finishing them all. Those simple moments with family remain my fondest Diwali memories."
When queried about her Diwali plans this year, Megha mentioned that she would likely be filming for her show "Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani", making it a working Diwali for her.
"However, I will still find a way to make it special, perhaps by lighting a few diyas on set, sharing sweets, and spending the evening with my family after wrap-up. I believe that even the smallest celebrations can bring forth the greatest warmth when they stem from the heart," she concluded.
