Mumbai, Oct 13 (NationPress) Renowned actress Meenakshi Seshadri has conveyed an emotional message as Diwali approaches, encouraging everyone to celebrate the festival of lights with joy and a sense of responsibility.

Meenakshi, who is preparing to celebrate her second Diwali in Mumbai after returning from the US, shared her thoughts in a heartfelt video on Instagram, expressing her excitement for the festival.

In the video, she communicates in Hindi, stating: “Diwali is nearly here, and I want to share a brief message with all of you. While we should celebrate this festival with much joy, we must also be cautious. Please avoid giving large firecrackers to young children.”

“Additionally, refrain from lighting firecrackers near cars, buildings, or any locations that pose a fire hazard. If you can, opt for lighting lamps, candles, and similar items. I am genuinely excited for this Diwali, my second one in Mumbai after returning from the USA. So, let’s prepare for Diwali ahead of time,” she continued.

In her caption, she wrote: “Diwali is on the horizon. Eagerly waiting for this beautiful festival of lights. #diwali #celebrate #festival.”

Reflecting on Meenakshi's career, she emerged as a prominent actress in Hindi cinema during the 1980s and 1990s.

She made her film debut in Painter Babu (1983) and gained instant fame with her second film Hero.

Meenakshi became a household name with her performances in films like “Aandhi-Toofan,” “Meri Jung,” “Swati,” “Dacait,” “Inaam Dus Hazaar,” “Shahenshah,” “Awaargi,” “Ghar Ho To Aisa,” “Damini,” and “Ghatak.” A documentary titled Meenakshi Accept Her Wings was made about her life.

Her last appearance was in the Hindi action thriller Ghatak: Lethal in 1996, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, featuring Sunny Deol, Meenakshi Seshadri, Amrish Puri, and Danny Denzongpa. It was the highest-grossing Bollywood film that year in terms of domestic box office earnings and ranked second overall in worldwide collections.
