False Claims Regarding Sun NXT's Acquisition of UI: The Movie OTT Rights

Chennai, Jan 8 (NationPress) The producers of UI: The Movie, featuring Upendra, have officially debunked the speculation that Sun NXT has obtained the OTT rights for their film. The filmmakers took to their social media accounts on platforms like X and Instagram to release a statement saying, “We have observed some misleading information circulating on social media and other platforms asserting that the OTT rights for UI: The Movie have been secured by Sun NXT. We would like to confirm that this information is inaccurate.”

The filmmakers further added, “The official announcement regarding OTT rights and additional updates will be disclosed exclusively by the UI team. We kindly ask everyone to refrain from believing or propagating such rumors. Please stay tuned to our official channels for all verified updates. We appreciate your love and support.”

Real Star Upendra, who not only starred in the film but also directed it, collaborated with M N Krishna Lekhana as co-director.

Produced by G Manoharan and KP Sreekanth under Lahari Films LLP and Venus Entertainers, the film features cinematography by H C Venu and a musical score by B Ajaneesh Loknath.

The editing was done by Vijay Raj BG, with art direction by Shivakumar and action sequences choreographed by Thriller Manju, Ravi Varma, and Chethan D'Souza.

The producers have asserted that UI: The Movie has achieved notable success. On the very first day of the new year, actor Upendra announced on his timeline on X that the film has become the highest-grossing Kannada film of 2024.

He shared, “Happy new year. A Brainbuster that’s rewriting history! #UiTheMovie becomes the global highest grosser for Kannada cinema in 2024 #FocusedBlockbusterUI.” He also posted an announcement stating, “History in the making! Worldwide highest grossing Kannada film of 2024.”
