Kochi, Nov 13 (NationPress) Director Jayan Nambiar’s highly anticipated film 'Vilayath Buddha' is set to deliver a powerful blend of action, romance, and ethical dilemmas, all unfolding in the vibrant yet perilous landscapes of Marayoor’s sandalwood forests.
Central to this enthralling narrative is “Double Mohan,” played by Prithviraj Sukumaran — a bold smuggler who pilfers sandalwood from the most secure government reserves.
These forests are under strict observation, with forest and police authorities remaining vigilant.
Nevertheless, Double Mohan — astute, fearless, and relentless — navigates through traps with remarkable agility, emerging as both a folk hero and a criminal.
In the midst of the ongoing battle between law enforcement and competing gangs, Mohan finds comfort in Chaithanya, a village girl who has secretly admired his bravery since her youth.
Portrayed by State Award-winning actress Priyamvada Krishnan, Chaithanya’s gentle affection adds emotional richness and fragility to Mohan’s chaotic existence.
Their love story flourishes within the shadows of crime and peril, providing the film with a heartfelt emotional arc that complements its action-centric plot.
Adapted from the esteemed novel Vilayath Buddha by G.R. Indugopan, the screenplay has been skillfully penned by Indugopan alongside Rajesh Pinnadan.
The film is co-produced by Sandeep Senan and A.V. Anoop under the banners of Urvashi Theatres and AVA Productions.
The cast includes Shammi Thilakan, Anu Mohan, Kiran Peethambaran, Adat Gopalan, Pramod Veliyanad, Vinod Thomas, and others.
On the technical side, cinematography is managed by Aravind Kashyap and Renadive, while the music is composed by Jakes Bejoy.
Editing is done by Sreejith Sreerang, with Banglan in charge of production design and Jithu Sebastian handling art direction.
Filmed extensively across Marayoor, Idukki, Nelliampathy, and Palakkad, Vilayath Buddha is nearing the end of its post-production phase.
With strong performances, stunning visuals, and a captivating score, the film is set to deliver a riveting cinematic journey that intertwines action, emotion, and the eternal conflict between love and law.
‘Vilayath Buddha’ is scheduled to hit theaters on November 21, under the banner of Urvashi Theatres.
