Chennai, Sep 4 (NationPress) Director Mu Maran, who helms the eagerly anticipated action thriller ‘Blackmail’, starring actor, music director, and producer G V Prakash in the lead role, has revealed that the film's narrative is drawn from genuine events.
In an exclusive conversation with IANS during a pre-release function organized by the film's producers, Mu Maran stated, "The story is inspired by true events I encountered in real life. It will shed light on the struggles faced by individuals dealing with blackmail."
The movie was filmed in a swift 50 days across Coimbatore and Chennai, delivering a gripping thriller running slightly over two hours.
Initially set for a release on August 1, the film has now been postponed to September 12.
During the pre-release event held on Thursday, the team showcased the first five minutes of the film exclusively to the press.
G V Prakash leads the cast alongside actress Teju Ashwini. The film also includes a talented ensemble featuring actors Srikanth, Bindhu Madhavi, Linga, Thilak Ramesh, and Muthukumar.
Produced by A Deivakani and presented by Jayakodi Amalraj under the JDS Film Factory banner, Mu Maran is recognized for his critically acclaimed thriller ‘Iravukku Aayiram Kangal’, which starred Arul Nidhi and Mahima Nambiar.
