At the festival, his memoir ‘Karma's Child: The Story of Indian Cinema's Ultimate Showman’ was unveiled, and his musical ‘Taal’ was screened.

The filmmaker took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and wrote, “I feel so blessed to know that I’ve so many friends expressing their love and affection for my health after my hectic stint at IFFI Goa. ALL IS WELL NOW and see you soon. SMILE AGAIN. Thank you.”

Earlier, the hospital provided a statement revealing his medical history, which included Ischemic heart disease (s/p AVR 2009, CABG in 2011, and pacemaker insertion in 2011) and a recent diagnosis of hypothyroidism. He was treated in the ICU under the supervision of Dr. Rohit Deshpande.
