Los Angeles, June 6 (NationPress) Hollywood actress Halle Berry, who has been in a relationship with singer Van Hunt for five years, has decided against accepting her partner's marriage proposal, as she doesn’t believe they need to formally validate their love.
In an interview with Today.com, Hunt revealed: "I made the proposal, and it’s currently on hold as you can see. It’s just out there floating. Maybe you can encourage her to say yes."
Berry, who has been married three times before to David Justice, Eric Benet, and Olivier Martinez, remarked: “I’ve been married three times. Van has been married once, and we don’t feel the necessity to marry to validate our love.”
Despite her hesitance, the Oscar-winning actress expressed optimism about their future together, stating, “I think we will eventually get married. Out of all my past marriages, he is the one I should have married.”
When asked about the timeline for their wedding, she simply replied, “Soon.”
Berry has previously described meeting Hunt as a “life-changing” experience, mentioning he was the first person she fell “madly in love” with before they became intimate. She shared with Marie Claire magazine: “It was the first time I was madly in love before I had sex. That has never happened to me, ever. It was a magical experience.”
Having met Hunt through his brother, Berry believes she has finally found her match in the Grammy-winning musician. She expressed, “It took me a minute to get it right. I genuinely believe that this is it. This is my person.”
