Los Angeles, March 2 (NationPress) Hollywood icon Harrison Ford has reportedly withdrawn from his role as a presenter at the Academy Awards, as he will not be participating in the ceremony this Sunday.

This unexpected departure stems from a recent diagnosis of shingles, which he received on Friday, according to Variety.

The Mayo Clinic defines shingles as a non-life-threatening and incurable viral infection characterized by a painful rash that appears as "a single stripe of blisters wrapping around one side of the torso".

This news is undoubtedly disheartening for fans of the Indiana Jones actor.

Entertainment Weekly was the first to break the news of Ford’s withdrawal.
