Hugh Grant Explains Why He Has Prohibited His Wife from Watching His Film 'Nine Months'

Los Angeles, Jan 7 (NationPress) Hollywood actor Hugh Grant has prohibited his wife from viewing his film 'Nine Months' as he feels that his performance was lacking.
The actor, who has been married to Anna Elisabet Eberstein since 2018, starred in the 1995 romantic comedy 'Nine Months' alongside Julianne Moore. Despite his admiration for everyone involved, he considers himself the only flaw in the project.
He mentioned to variety.com: "Let me emphasize, everyone associated with ('Nine Months'), except for me, was remarkable and talented. I was the one who fell short. My wife is eager to see it, but I’ve forbidden her. I’ve implemented parental controls so it’s inaccessible to her."
Throughout his illustrious four-decade career in Hollywood, Grant has featured in beloved romantic comedies like 'Bridget Jones' Diary' and 'Four Weddings and a Funeral'. He noted that while these films can be 'challenging' to produce, he has come to realize over time that their enduring appeal often stems from the 'pain' embedded in their narratives.
He stated: "These films are tough to make, and with the passage of time, I truly value the exceptional ones I participated in. The Richard Curtis films delve into pain. This is something my wife, who is Swedish, has noticed; they have a strong understanding of pain."
“When she was watching 'Love Actually', she remarked, 'Everyone is experiencing pain, and the humor is merely a coping mechanism for dealing with it,'” as reported by femalefirst.co.uk.
"That’s what gives them longevity and prevents them from being ephemeral. The films by Marc Lawrence that I’ve worked on are also fantastic because he has a genuine affection for people, which I find absolutely charming."
“I’ve encountered romantic comedies that seem to be created by a committee, and they don’t resonate as effectively.”
'Nine Months' is a 1995 American romantic comedy directed by Chris Columbus. The film features Tom Arnold, Joan Cusack, Jeff Goldblum, and Robin Williams, and it is a remake of the French film 'Neuf mois', marking Grant’s first leading role in a US film.
