Mumbai, Nov 5 (NationPress) Actress and singer Iulia Vantur recently carved a niche in history by showcasing the Bollywood classic “Teri Meri Prem Kahani” from the film 'Bodyguard', featuring the iconic Salman Khan, at the prestigious Paul VI Hall in the Vatican. This remarkable performance marked a historic first, as it was the debut of a Bollywood song being sung in the Vatican in the presence of The Pope and other distinguished guests, establishing a proud milestone for India on the world stage.

Iulia had the extraordinary chance to meet His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. Reflecting on this momentous meeting, she expressed, “Encountering the Pope was an experience that words fail to capture. His aura exudes warmth and kindness, filling me with gratitude and tranquility. It served as a reminder that true faith is rooted in compassion, humility, and human connection.”

On her experience of performing the beloved Bollywood hit, Iulia shared, “Singing Teri Meri at the Vatican transcended mere performance; it was a heartfelt prayer through music. Bringing an Indian melody to such a sacred place felt enchanting, proving that music can transcend borders and faith, speaking the universal language of love.”

Adding to the global importance of the event, Iulia collaborated with Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Jason “Poo Bear” Boyd, known for his work on hits like “Despacito” and chart-toppers from Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, and Usher. “Recording with Poo Bear was an immense honor. He’s a revered figure in the music industry, and performing with him on such a platform was a memorable experience,” Iulia stated.

Moreover, Iulia also performed the original Romanian version of Teri Meri, followed by her upcoming unreleased track, ‘Corinde Corinde’. Later, she joined Poo Bear and international musicians including Stephen Devassy and Vijay Yesudas for a poignant rendition of “We Are the New World (Keep Doing Good),” an anthem celebrating unity, hope, and kindness.

This remarkable occasion was part of the 60th anniversary celebration of Nostra Aetate and the Second Vatican Council’s significant declaration advocating dialogue, understanding, and unity among world religions. As for Iulia, she is set to appear in the film Echoes of Us.

The film has garnered acclaim at various film festivals, including the 14th Bangalore Shorts Film Festival – 2025, Global Indie Filmmaker Awards – 2025, Independent Shorts Awards – 2025, and Love & Hope International Film Festival 2025. The film's makers recently unveiled the trailer, offering glimpses into this short story that intertwines emotional depth and cultural connection.
