Mumbai, June 19 (NationPress) Actor Jaaved Jaaferi revealed that he played a crucial role in designing his character for the blockbuster comedy series ‘Dhamaal’. In a recent chat with Farah Khan on her show, he shared the creative process behind his character's development.
He recounted, “Indra Kumar told me, ‘Javed, you look smart’. I replied, ‘Understood’. He then complimented my voice, and I responded, ‘Okay, I get it’.”
Jaaved mentioned that he drew inspiration from the director's subtle hints to shape his character. “I crafted the character's look with dungarees and provided the entire aesthetic. On the first day of filming, the director remarked, ‘I wasn’t aware’. When we shot the pizza scene, I introduced a lisp and adopted a hunched posture to convey weakness. Speaking assertively wouldn’t fit the character, so I altered my stance and added the lisp,” he explained.
In a different segment of the show, Jaaved's brother discussed how Boogie Woogie, a popular dance show, was conceptualized. He shared, “The show creator asked for a title, and I suggested ‘Boogie Woogie Dancing Show’, which I loved. He agreed, and we had a small office with two cabins. Mr. Sudesh Iyer wanted to meet us, and upon our introduction, he seemed puzzled but ultimately approved the concept, saying, ‘Two pages. Superb, we're doing it. That's it’.”
