Mumbai, Oct 15 (NationPress) On the occasion of the 94th birth anniversary of one of India’s most cherished Presidents, APJ Abdul Kalam, veteran actor Jackie Shroff has paid tribute to the revered leader. Jackie took to his Instagram Stories, sharing a heartfelt image of Abdul Kalam with the message: “Remembering Shri APJ Abdul Kalam ju on his Birth Anniversary!”

Known affectionately as the People's President, APJ Abdul Kalam was a distinguished aerospace scientist and statesman who held the office of President of India from 2002 to 2007.

He earned the nickname Missile Man of India due to his significant contributions to the development of ballistic missile and launch vehicle technology. A recipient of multiple accolades, including the esteemed Bharat Ratna, Abdul Kalam also played a vital organizational, technical, and political role in the Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998, which marked India's second nuclear test following the first in 1974.

Tragically, during a lecture at IIM Shillong, Kalam collapsed and passed away from a cardiac arrest on July 27, 2015, at the age of 83.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Abdul Kalam’s inspiring life story is being adapted for the big screen in a forthcoming biopic.

The film, titled Kalam, features National Award-winning actor Dhanush in the lead role and was announced during the recent Cannes Film Festival.

Dhanush will portray Doctor Kalam, with the film directed by Om Raut, known for his work on Adipurush.

This cinematic piece will delve into the life of the man behind India's missile programs and presidency, showcasing the poet, the teacher, and the dreamer whose words harmonized science and spirituality. More than just a political biography, the film aims to provide insights into leadership and nation-building.
