Mumbai, April 22 (NationPress) On this Earth Day, actor and producer Jackky Bhagnani shared that he has been cultivating his own vegetables and maintaining a personal kitchen garden.

He expressed: "I fully support consuming fresh, nutrient-dense produce, and anyone can adopt a more sustainable lifestyle by starting small, such as growing food in their balconies or backyards. I have been nurturing my kitchen garden for some time now."

"The joy I experience from growing and harvesting my own produce, even in limited amounts, is immeasurable."

He reminisced about how his enthusiasm for healthy eating took root.

"For many years, I have been quite vigilant about my health and fitness. My wife Rakul and I initially connected over our mutual interest in this topic. We often discussed the risks associated with consuming vegetables treated with pesticides and harmful fertilizers, which contribute to soil degradation."

He noted the difficulty in tracking the chemicals present in our food.

"Upon our marriage, we resolved to cultivate as many greens as we could," shared Jackky, who tied the knot with actress Rakul Preet Singh last year in Goa.

Recognizing that not everyone has the necessary space for gardening, he remarked, "Of course, space can be an issue in urban areas like Mumbai, but container gardening is feasible on balconies."

"Herbs can thrive in kitchen windows, and many apartments boast spacious terraces suitable for gardening. I find that nurturing a sapling from a seed is a deeply rewarding experience and it benefits the planet as well."

In other news, on April 19, Jackky penned a touching birthday message for his 'first hero & forever inspiration' Vashu Bhagnani.

Jackky wrote, "You have always been larger than life, Dad. As a child, I admired you and believed you could achieve anything. It took me years to appreciate the strength behind your calm demeanor, the love behind your silence, and the courage behind your decisions.

"Even today, I continue to learn from the way you handle yourself, especially during tough times. Happy Birthday to my first hero, my enduring inspiration. I love you more than words can express," along with a red heart emoji.
