Los Angeles, April 19 (NationPress) Hollywood actor Jacob Elordi, famous for his role in Euphoria, disclosed that he was contemplating a hiatus from acting before receiving an offer to star in 'Wuthering Heights'.
The 27-year-old actor shared that he was considering a career pause after a hectic few years, but when 'Saltburn' director Emerald Fennell reached out via text about the chance to portray Heathcliff alongside Margot Robbie as Catherine Earnshaw, he found it hard to decline, according to Female First UK.
Jacob expressed to IndieWire, "I was incredibly fortunate. I was about to take a break for a bit, and then Emerald just simply texted me, and you can’t escape that message.”
He enjoyed collaborating with 'Barbie' star Margot, stating, "She’s phenomenal in the film; she’s a livewire. I’m really, really eager for audiences to see it. She’s a remarkable actor and she contributed so, so much (sic).”
According to Female First UK, the cast also features Shazad Latif as Edgar Linton, Hong Chau as Nelly Dean, and Jacob's 'Saltburn' co-star Alison Oliver as Isabella Linton. Margot will produce through her LuckyChap production company, marking the third collaboration between Fennell and LuckyChap after 'Saltburn' and 'Promising Young Woman'.
'Wuthering Heights' is set to premiere in February 2026, and Emerald Fennell informed fans last year that this adaptation of the classic novel will be her third feature film.
She shared on social media, "Be with me always - take any form - drive me mad", a quote from the novel. Actor Barry Keoghan, who also appeared alongside Jacob in 'Saltburn', previously mentioned his interest in a role in the film.
He stated to Variety, "Anything that Emerald touches, I’m in. She’s extraordinary.”
Regarding Emerald’s work, Margot previously remarked, "Emerald immerses you into a world so swiftly. She’s incredibly skilled at tone and narrative. She gets into your mind and taps into the most depraved parts of it, making you complicit in the story.”
