Actress Jahnvi Soni has revealed that a deeply personal connection — through one of her closest friends — helped her bring the character of Saanvi to life in the upcoming television show 'Sayoneee', set to premiere on 23 September on Star Plus and JioHotstar. The actress plays Saanvi, a young woman who has grown up in an orphanage, longing for a mother's love and a sense of belonging.

The Friend Who Inspired the Role

'I haven't personally gone through something like Saanvi has, but one of my closest friends grew up without her mother,' Jahnvi said. 'She considers her maasi her mother, and I have seen that bond very closely. I would often think about what it must have been like for her while growing up, going to school, giving exams or experiencing important moments without her mother by her side.'

The actress drew from these observations to understand Saanvi's emotional world — particularly the intense longing for a mother figure that drives the character's journey through the show.

Saanvi's Journey and the Search for Family

Jahnvi elaborated on the emotional core of her role, noting that children raised without parents often find surrogate family bonds within their immediate circles. 'Over the years, her maasi became her mother figure and her biggest emotional support. I feel many children who grow up in orphanages also find someone they emotionally connect with — someone who becomes that sense of family and comfort for them,' she said.

This understanding, she explained, was central to her preparation. 'While preparing for the character, I tried to draw from what I had seen and understood through my friend's journey. It helped me connect with Saanvi's emotions and understand why finding that mother figure means so much to her,' Jahnvi added.

'Sayoneee' is produced by Sargun Mehta's production house Dreamiyata Entertainment and marks the return of actress Rashami Desai to the small screen. A recently released promo also introduced actor Gautam Singh Vig alongside Jahnvi, offering a glimpse into the relationships that will shape Saanvi's story.
