Los Angeles, April 2 (NationPress) Hollywood star Jamie Lee Curtis celebrated the arrival of her granddaughter in December, just a week following the passing of her dear friends Rob and Michele Reiner.

The actress, known for her role in 'Freaky Friday', and her husband Christopher Guest are proud parents to two adopted daughters. Their eldest, Annie Guest, whose godparents were the Reiners, welcomed her first child with husband Jason Wolf during a profoundly emotional period for the family, as reported by Female First UK.

During a conversation with Michelle Obama on her IMO podcast, Jamie expressed, "I never imagined I would have children. The thought of becoming a grandma was beyond my wildest dreams. I’m excited to be a Granny.”

The 67-year-old actress became emotional discussing the mix of feelings she experienced due to the recent losses of Rob and Michele, whose son Nick has been implicated in their tragic deaths.

Jamie shared, "My husband and I are now grandparents. Their baby boy was born in December, just a week after Rob and Michele passed. Rob and Michele were her godparents, and their deaths fell on her birthday. My beloved daughter, who cherished them as we all did, has somehow managed to process that grief, as we all have. Their children are our priority, but they were our close friends too."

According to Female First UK, Jamie noted that many “colleagues and friends” are also mourning the loss of the couple.

She added, "Then, a week later, my daughter and her husband welcomed their son into this world. Life unfolds with both its harsh realities and its most beautiful moments.”

The star of 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' made sure to get Annie's consent before publicly sharing news of her grandson, as her daughter was delighted for her to speak about it, especially given her admiration for the former First Lady.

Jamie recounted, "I reached out to my daughter, saying, 'I’m about to discuss this on a podcast.' It had always been a private matter. However, many in our circle are aware that we’re grandparents. Sooner or later, someone would mention it. I told her, 'I think it might come up. How do you feel about me discussing it?' She replied, 'Tell her I love her.' Annie said, 'Tell her I love her'.”

"You are cherished and respected enough that she would say, 'Yes, Mom, you can share it with Michelle Obama, because she's a great person. She loves you, and you’ve represented love in the world and brought that love to the White House and beyond. So, it’s incredibly exciting for me to announce to the universe that I’ve become a granny right here with you,'” she concluded.
