Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, Feb 1 (NationPress) Hollywood actor Jason Momoa shared insights into the valuable lessons he acquired during his time on the sci-fi series “Stargate Atlantis” when he was in his 20s.
While promoting his latest film, The Wrecking Crew, the 46-year-old star remarked, “Stargate Atlantis was akin to attending college, honestly. It occupied four years of my life, producing around 22 episodes, which generally took about nine months each year, requiring full dedication.”
He elaborated to MovieZine, mentioning that filming each episode took approximately a week and a half.
“You really get to witness how everything operates. The pace is quite rapid,” he stated.
The Aquaman actor discussed how the series prepared him for a career in action films, particularly highlighting the physical demands of his role as Ronon Dex, as reported by people.com.
“In terms of action, that was where I truly began to hone my skills. Our stunt coordinators were exceptional. We all became friends, and even now, I maintain close relationships with several of our stunt performers in Canada,” he shared.
“Thus, it was genuinely like college for me, and it was during this time that I began crafting my own projects... it provided me the opportunity to develop as an actor and learn various stunt techniques, including those inspired by samurai films that I cherished as a child.”
Moreover, he expressed his deep affection for the show's fans, stating, “They have supported me through everything, and they cherish Ronon... The sci-fi community has been incredibly supportive and has always cheered for me. I hold them in high regard and am truly grateful.”
Stargate Atlantis aired for five seasons from 2004 to 2009. Alongside Momoa, who joined in season 2 in 2005, the cast included Joe Flanigan, Torri Higginson, Rachel Luttrell, Rainbow Sun Francks, and David Hewlett.
