Mumbai, April 15 (NationPress) Actor Jay Thakkar believes that the universe is working in his favor as he anticipates the release of two thrilling films— "Bhool Chuk Maaf" and "Kapkapiii".

Reflecting on his simultaneous releases, Jay expressed, “Having two films premiere in the same month—where I’m a key cast member and featured in the promotional materials of both—feels surreal. This is a dream I’ve pursued for 20 years, and witnessing it come to fruition is profoundly emotional.”

What adds to the excitement is the stark difference between his roles in the two movies. In "Bhool Chuk Maaf", Jay portrays a 25-year-old charming, slightly mischievous boyfriend with rugged facial hair and a flair for clever Banarasi dialect humor. “I immersed myself in the local culture to master the dialect and slang. My character is eccentric and infuses unexpected comedy into the narrative. Collaborating with Rajkummar Rao, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sanjay Mishra ji, Seema Pahwa ji, and Raghubir Yadav ji was an educational experience,” he shared.

In contrast, Jay transforms completely in "Kapkapiii"—clean-shaven, youthful, and brimming with innocent dreams. He described his role, saying, “I play an 18-year-old chaiwala with aspirations of becoming the Prime Minister one day,” he chuckled. “It’s a horror-comedy, so expect a lot of laughs along with some eerie twists. Working alongside Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor was a blast!”

Although both films are debuting in the same month, they were filmed at different times. Jay clarified, “Kapkapiii was shot in Delhi back in October-November two years ago, while Bhool Chuk Maaf was filmed just last year. That interval allowed me to deeply engage with each character and enrich their narratives with more depth and authenticity.”

When asked about preparing for such varied roles, he remarked, “Preparation is crucial. Whether portraying a chaiwala with lofty dreams or a charismatic city dweller, I begin by understanding their environment—their aspirations, fears, and backgrounds. I rely on personal experiences, research, and improvisation to create something genuine.”

"Bhool Chuk Maaf" is directed and penned by Karan Sharma and stars Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi. Conversely, "Kapkapiii", directed by the late Sangeeth Sivan, features Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor.
