Los Angeles, Oct 14 (NationPress) Hollywood icon Jennifer Aniston has opened up about her decision not to pursue adoption during her two-decade journey to motherhood, expressing her desire for her own DNA in a little person.
The former Friends actress discussed her lengthy struggle to build a family, revealing her experience with numerous unsuccessful IVF attempts.
During her guest appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast, Aniston stated: "When people suggest: 'But you can adopt,' I respond that I don’t want to adopt. I wish for my own DNA in a little person. That’s the only way, selfish or not, it's been my wish."
When asked if she has found “peace” after her fertility challenges, Aniston replied: "It's incredibly peaceful. Yet, there comes a time when it's out of my control. There's absolutely nothing I can do about it."
Aniston acknowledged having had relationships with men she believed would have made great parents, but she mentioned that such thoughts would often dissipate quickly.
She elaborated: "It (becoming a parent) just wasn’t part of the plan, whatever that plan may have been. It's profoundly emotional, especially when they say 'that's it,' as there's this peculiar moment when that occurs."
Aniston had previously discussed her IVF experiences in a 2022 interview with Allure magazine, stating: "In my late 30s and 40s, I faced significant challenges, and if it weren't for those experiences, I wouldn't have become who I was meant to be. I was focused on getting pregnant."
"It was tough. I underwent IVF, drank Chinese herbal teas, and tried everything. I would have given anything for someone to have advised me: 'Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.' You simply don’t consider it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed, but I have no regrets."
