Los Angeles, Oct 21 (NationPress) Hollywood actress-singer Jessica Simpson is candidly discussing her unexpected journey in both her personal and professional realms, revealing that being single again as a mother of three was a scenario she never envisioned.
The 45-year-old icon shared her split from Eric Johnson in January, after a decade-long marriage, and admits that she never foresaw being single at this point in her life, according to ‘Female First UK’.
The chart-topping artist, who shares children Maxi (13), Ace (12), and Birdie (6) with Eric, told ‘People’, “I feel like we often get caught up in numbers. Like, 'Oh, at 45, did I think I would be single again as a mom of three?' Absolutely not. That was never my plan. But this is just part of what destiny has in store for me.”
Jessica asserts that her new fragrance, Mystic Canyon, symbolizes her path of self-discovery.
She elaborated, “At this stage in my life, I was meant to find independence in my self-discovery without the influence of others' critiques, judgments, or opinions. It was truly about returning to myself, being proud of who I am, coming from a place of honesty and vulnerability, and channeling that into melodic form, as well as into my brand. It has been incredibly empowering.”
According to ‘Female First UK’, Jessica disclosed in July that she is open to dating again. When asked by Today show co-host Jenna Bush-Hager, “Are you interested in dating? Can I set you up with anyone?”, she enthusiastically replied, “I’d totally jump on that. Yes, I'm single, very much so. I’m ready!” Jenna followed up, “What are you looking for so I can set my criteria?”
Jessica described her ideal partner as unique, stating, “I don’t have a specific look in mind. I just appreciate someone who is genuinely themselves and exudes confidence without any ego. It’s challenging to find, but I believe it’s out there. I don’t need someone to constantly support me; I value my independence, and it would be great to share that with someone else.”
