Mumbai, Nov 26 (NationPress) The versatile Bollywood star Kapil Sharma has finally addressed the shooting incident that occurred outside his cafe in Canada earlier this year. During the trailer launch for his upcoming film ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ on Wednesday, he opened up about the violent attack.
Regarding the gunfire, he stated, “It happened in Vancouver, Canada, where there were three shots fired. I believe the local police may lack the authority to intervene effectively. However, the case was escalated to the federal government, similar to our central government, and it was brought up in the Canadian Parliament.”
He elaborated, “We may not always comprehend the reasons behind God’s interventions. I received numerous calls about the ongoing issues, but since it occurred at my cafe, it gained media attention. Consequently, the local police and law enforcement are now working towards enhancing safety. I have never felt unsafe in Mumbai or my home country. They do not have the same police presence as we do in Mumbai.”
Last month, multiple shots were fired outside Kapil Sharma’s cafe in Canada. The shooting was reportedly claimed by gang members associated with the incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, including Kulveer Sidhu and Goldy Dhillon, who posted on social media asserting their responsibility for the attack, indicating they do not intend to harm civilians but aim to send a warning to those who betray them.
This incident marked the third attack in a span of four months at Kapil’s cafe located in Surrey, Canada. The initial attack was claimed by Harjit Singh Laddi, a wanted terrorist linked to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), reportedly motivated by comments made by Kapil Sharma that were said to offend the Nihang Sikh community.
The second attack involved gangs affiliated with Goldy Dhillon and Lawrence Bishnoi. The jailed gangster has been targeting Bollywood superstar Salman Khan to avenge the illegal hunting of the black buck, which holds sacred status within the Bishnoi community.
Lawrence Bishnoi has been pursuing individuals connected to the superstar. Notably, Kapil Sharma’s comedy shows were produced by Salman Khan for a significant period before Sharma transitioned to Netflix for ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’.
