Mumbai, Oct 29 (NationPress) Renowned filmmaker Karan Johar has expressed his excitement over the trailer of Agastya Nanda's forthcoming war drama "Ikkis".
After catching the first look of this gripping narrative, a elated KJo took to his Instagram Stories to declare, "LOVED!!! This is going to be a remarkable film !!!! Sriram is at his best !!! Loved you AGGY!!!! So incredibly proud !!!! Much love to @maddockfilms" (sic).
Directed by the National Award-winning Sriram Raghavan, "Ikkis" is based on the true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra.
Set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak conflict, Agastya Nanda portrays the valorous soldier whose courageous actions and sacrifice are etched in India’s military legacy.
The film chronicles Khetarpal's journey from a cadet at the National Defence Academy to his role as a tank commander during the 1971 India-Pakistan war.
During the Battle of Basantar, his regiment played a pivotal role in providing armor support to another unit. Demonstrating unmatched bravery, Khetarpal engaged the enemy directly, destroying 10 Pakistani tanks before sacrificing his life.
In a social media reveal of the trailer, the production team Maddock Films stated, "Woh Ikkis Ka Tha, Ikkis Ka Hi Rahega!" Featuring Agastya Nanda in the lead role, the film's ensemble cast includes Simar Bhatia, Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, Sikandar Kher, and Deepak Dobriyal in pivotal roles, along with others.
