Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Oct 31 (NationPress) Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), the largest youth engagement platform in India, has successfully connected over 2 crore young Indians with approximately 1.2 lakh organizations offering various opportunities for volunteering, experiential learning, leadership, and skill development, as announced by the government on Friday.
The initiative features a MY Bharat Portal and a mobile application equipped with various MY Bharat 2.0 modules, which create new avenues for volunteering, leadership, and skill-building. This allows young Indians to contribute directly to national priorities, according to an official statement.
Launched on October 31, 2023, MY Bharat, overseen by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, offers a technology-driven platform for citizens between the ages of 15-29 and adolescents aged 10-19. This platform encourages participation in projects alongside government departments, private organizations, and civil society.
These initiatives tackle pressing real-world challenges, ranging from health, education, and environment to innovation, entrepreneurship, and social inclusion, as per the statement.
According to government data, the platform has generated over 14.5 lakh volunteering opportunities, linking more than 16,000 youth club members with 60,000 institutional partners, including government bodies, educational institutions, and NGOs.
The MY Bharat mobile app, which was launched on October 1, offers multilingual support, AI-driven chatbots, voice-assisted navigation, and Smart CV Builder tools.
At the time of its launch, the platform had already onboarded around 1.81 crore youth, with 1.20 lakh organizations registered.
The app also issues digital certificates and engagement badges, showcasing each participant's contributions to national and community projects.
The MY Bharat 2.0 modules integrate National Career Service linkages, a mentorship hub, and experiential learning programs, as highlighted in the release.
To address the digital divide and ensure universal access, the platform has collaborated with the Common Service Centres network and engaged over five lakh village-level entrepreneurs to help youth in rural, tribal, and aspirational districts register and access MY Bharat services.
