Mumbai, March 9 (NationPress) Bollywood sensation Kareena Kapoor Khan channeled her inner Poo, a legendary and flamboyant character from the 2001 hit film “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham”, during rehearsal sessions for her highly anticipated performance at the 25th IIFA Awards taking place this Sunday.
The IIFA's official Instagram account featured a clip from behind the scenes, showcasing Kareena in a stylish white T-shirt, yoga pants, and chic sunglasses.
In front of the camera, Kareena recited her famous line, “Kaun hai yeh jisne dobara mudke mujhe nahi dekha, who is he?”
Poo remains one of Kareena's most cherished and unforgettable roles. Her striking fashion sense and sharp one-liners have made Poo a standout character among the many roles portrayed by the actress, affectionately known as Bebo.
Some of Poo's most memorable quotes include “Kaun hai yeh jisne dobara mudke mujhe nahi dekha”, ‘P.H.A.T – Pretty, Hot And Tempting’, and “Tumhe koi haq nahi banta ki tum itni khoobsurat lago. Not fair”, among others.
“Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…”, directed by Karan Johar, features a star-studded cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan, and Rani Mukerji in a significant guest role.
The film narrates the tale of a wealthy Indian family grappling with conflicts and misunderstandings stemming from their adopted son’s romance with a girl from a less privileged background.
In 2022, Kareena discussed with IANS whether Poo deserves her own film. She reflected on why this character, originally from Chandni Chowk in New Delhi and later relocating to London with her sister played by Kajol and brother-in-law portrayed by Shah Rukh Khan, has garnered such a devoted fan base.
“I believe it's her personality, her dialogue style, and the trendy words she uses that resonate with people. It’s likely due to this connection that she remains popular. Who knows, perhaps we’ll see a film dedicated to her someday,” she said.
