Mumbai, March 10 (NationPress) Bollywood sensation Kartik Aaryan is ecstatic after securing the IIFA trophy for Best Actor (Male) for his performance in the blockbuster horror-comedy series ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’.
His sincere acceptance speech struck a chord with the crowd as he recounted the hurdles and victories that defined his career, especially his experience with the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ series.
The actor, while referencing his character in ‘Chandu Champion’, stated, "I am at a loss for words right now. I am not Chandu, I am the champion. Although this is not an award for that film, I feel the same way.”
He recognized the doubts he encountered when he joined the franchise, reminiscing about how people questioned his ability to lead ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’. "From the start, when I was chosen for ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, people doubted whether I could shoulder the film. Even during ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, we were uncertain about our success on the release day,” he added.
Kartik was brought on board for ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ as a replacement for Bollywood icon Akshay Kumar, a casting decision that stirred significant buzz and provoked loyal fans of Akshay. However, Kartik elevated the franchise, with his films collectively grossing nearly Rs 600 crore.
Despite these challenges, Kartik expressed deep appreciation for his fans' steadfast support. He said, "Thank you to the audience for consistently backing the entire franchise and for showering so much affection on both Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. This year, when the film premiered during Diwali 2024, we were thrilled by the love it garnered.”
He also acknowledged director Anees Bazmee for crafting his character of Rooh Baba, saying, "A huge thanks to Anees Bazmee sir for creating such a remarkable character, Rooh Baba, which has truly become a legacy across generations.”
The actor additionally took to Instagram to share photos of himself with the coveted IIFA trophy. He captioned, "My first IIFA Best Actor Leading Role, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ #roohbaba. If the audience stands by you, no one can prevent you from becoming a champion; the unforgettable thrilling journey of #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 now feels complete with this jewel added to Rooh Baba's crown. I am blessed and thankful to have earned one of the most prestigious awards in Indian cinema. This award belongs to every member of the BB3 team; your #roohbaba will return soon with Manjulika.”
On the professional front, the actor has ‘Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri’, directed by Sameer Vidwans and produced by Dharma Productions, in the works.
The romantic comedy is scheduled for release in 2026.
